Skill Set :

  1. Sound knowledge of at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java,.
  2. Expertise in automation (building, testing, releasing or monitoring).
  3. Proficient in highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems.
  4. Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
  5. Ability to do scripting (any one of Shell, Perl, Python etc.).
  6. Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills.
  7. Strong Communication Skills.
  8. strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once.
  9. Able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure.

Job Description :

Systems Development Engineers are expected to develop best practices, refine operational procedures and constantly innovate proactively. You will continuously identify areas of growth within the existing frameworks, tools and processes to develop further technical mechanisms to reduce waste and continuously improve.

  1. The team operates programs to increase the availability, productivity and performance of all Alexa customer experiences.
  2. Serve as a center of excellence by providing leadership, best practices, tools, research, audit reports, support and education to all Alexa teams.
  3. Responsible for driving availability and optimizations across the teams in Alexa.
  4. Will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

Our ideal candidate is autonomous, detail oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and has experience working at scale. Systems Development Engineers work hand-in-hand with service teams to invent new ways of operating Alexa’s Tools and Services.
