Experimental Investigation of AISI 1018 Steel joints developed using inertia welding (Rotatory Friction Welding)

1. This study will enable to develop an in-depth understanding for the use of this technology and investigate the weld quality of carbon steels pipes joined using other welding methods. 2. The evaluation made with regards to strength, pressure, cost, time and weld quality will extend the capabilities of fabrication which speed up the product development process and reduce cost while assuring high product quality. 3. The upsetting pressure will be contributing more in strength w.r.t other parameters i.e., rpm and time. 4. The gap between the pipes should be 0mm for generation of heat. 5. Tensile strength will be high at high welding current, high upsetting pressure and low welding time i.e., 230 rpm, 5 bar, 20 seconds.
