Module 4 · Prompts for real work Lesson 10 of 15
Getting structured output you can use
Ask for the answer in a fixed shape - a table, JSON, a list with named fields - and you can paste it straight into a document or a script instead of rewriting it by hand.
Worked example
Ask for JSON with the keys skill, why_it_matters and example, and the answer becomes data rather than prose you must reformat.
Your practice task
Ask for the same information twice, once as prose and once as a JSON list, and note which one you could actually use.
Do this before moving on. Reading a solution teaches the shape of it; typing it teaches you.
Key takeaway
Ask for the answer in a fixed shape - a table, JSON, a list with named fields - and you can paste it straight into a document or a script instead of rewriting it by hand.
