Module 4 · The group discussion and the panel Lesson 11 of 15

The panel interview and several interviewers

Learning objective

A panel asks you questions from three directions: the role, the manager and the culture. Answer the person who asked, then give a short glance to the others so nobody feels ignored.

Worked example

When two people ask at once, answer the one named first, then add "I think that also covers your point about timelines" - you have answered both without rushing.

Your practice task

Have a friend ask as two different interviewers and practise answering one while including the other.

Do this before moving on. Reading a solution teaches the shape of it; typing it teaches you.

Key takeaway

A panel asks you questions from three directions: the role, the manager and the culture. Answer the person who asked, then give a short glance to the others so nobody feels ignored.
