Module 2 · The interview conversation Lesson 4 of 15

Answering with a structure, not a paragraph

Learning objective

Three sentences, then stop: the direct answer, one reason or example, and one line that closes it. Silence after that is the interviewer taking notes, not judging you.

Worked example

"Do you have any questions for us?" answered with three specific questions about the team and the work turns a formal round into a conversation. Asked with "no questions", it ends the engagement early.

Your practice task

Write three questions you would genuinely ask about a real job you have seen advertised, and rehearse them out loud.

Do this before moving on. Reading a solution teaches the shape of it; typing it teaches you.

Key takeaway

Three sentences, then stop: the direct answer, one reason or example, and one line that closes it. Silence after that is the interviewer taking notes, not judging you.
