Course curriculum

Module 5Measuring and improving over time5 of 53 lessons

Tests, an owned email list and a calendar that turns posting into a habit.

  1. A/B tests and the one-change rule

A test compares two versions and changes one thing. If you change the headline and the image together, you learn nothing about either.

    The lesson

Decide the metric and the minimum sample before you start; stopping the moment one side is ahead is how random noise becomes a confident wrong decision.

Most tests end in "no difference". Write that down too - knowing what does not matter is as useful as knowing what does.

    Plain text
Test: CTA wording on the tool page

A (control): "Check your score - free"
B (variant): "See what's holding you back - free"
Change: the CTA line only (same page, same traffic)
    Metric: tool completions per visitor
    Sample: ~400 visitors per side
    Result:       B +18% completions -> keep B

Example Version A and version B differ only in the call-to-action line, and the result tells you which line earns more clicks.

Practice Design one A/B test with a single difference, and write the metric and the sample you would need.

  2. Email and retention basics

Email is the only channel you own. One useful email a week to a list that opted in beats a thousand impressions you rent from a platform.

    The lesson

Grow the list with something worth trading an address for - a checklist, a template, a tool - not a "subscribe" button nobody presses.

Watch unsubscribes and opens, not just sends; a falling open rate is the list telling you the emails stopped being useful.

    Plain text
Subject: 3 real openings for BCom freshers (Pune)

    Hi Asha,

This week: an accounts role at a CA firm, a back-office role at a
bank, and an analyst opening that asks for Excel only.

One tip: mention the tool in line one - screeners search for it.

    [See the 3 jobs ->]

You get this because you asked for the Monday digest.
    Unsubscribe: [link]

Example A weekly digest with three real openings and one tip earns inbox attention; a daily blast of promotions earns the unsubscribe.

Practice Draft one useful weekly email for your audience with a clear subject and one action.

  3. Building a 30-day content calendar

A calendar turns intention into a habit. Map four weeks of posts to the questions your audience actually asks, and the "what do I post today" problem disappears.

    The lesson

Batch the work: write and design a month in one sitting, then publish on schedule. Consistency comes from batching, not from daily willpower.

Leave two empty slots for whatever happens that week - a result, a question in the comments - so the calendar stays alive instead of rigid.

    Plain text
30-day calendar (one post a week, one theme each)

Wk1 Is a BPO job a real career? short explainer
Wk2 Skills they actually screen for carousel, 5 slides
Wk3 How to apply in 3 steps screen recording
Wk4 What these roles pay in Pune chart + one line

+ 2 open slots for whatever happens that week.

Example Week 1 answers "is this career real", week 2 "what skills", week 3 "how to apply", week 4 "what it pays" - each week one clear theme.

Practice Build a four-week calendar with one post a week, each tied to a real question, and a format for each.

About Digital Marketing Masterclass

Plan, run and measure a small real campaign โ€” content, search and paid โ€” and report what it actually cost and returned.

Graduates from any stream, small-business owners, and anyone already posting for a college club, a family shop or their own page who wants to do it with numbers instead of guesses.

What you will be able to do at the end

  • Write a one-page marketing plan for a real product, with a named audience and one measurable goal
  • Set up and read Google Analytics 4: where visitors came from and what they did
  • Do keyword research and write a page that targets one honest search phrase
  • Run a small paid campaign with a fixed budget and read cost-per-click and conversion
  • Write social content that is planned, not improvised, and know which post did what
  • Report the campaign in one page a business owner would understand

How the course is structured

4 modules and 12 lessons, arranged so each one ends with something you have built. Every lesson carries a worked example and a practice task โ€” the practice is the course, the reading is only the setup. Plan for 6 weeks ยท about 6 hours a week.

The full syllabus โ€” every lesson, its example and its practice task โ€” is in the Course curriculum below. Nothing is locked and nothing needs an account.

Your weekly routine

  • Two 2-hour sessions a week: one concept, one thing shipped.
  • Thirty minutes weekly in analytics, reading your own numbers rather than reading about analytics.
  • One post-mortem a week in five lines: what ran, what it cost, what came back, what you would change.

What you will have built by the end

  • A one-page marketing plan with a named audience and a dated number
  • One published page targeting a real search phrase, with tagged promotion
  • A small ad test with cost per click, cost per conversion and a written recommendation

Where this leads for a fresher

  • Digital marketing executive (fresher)
  • Social media and content executive
  • SEO trainee
  • Marketing internships at agencies and small businesses

Titles vary between companies; the evidence does not. A deployed project, a set of queries you can explain, or a case study with real testing behind it is what a fresher interview has to work with.

Frequently asked questions

Can I learn this without spending money on ads?

Most of it, yes. The coursework runs on free tools, and the ad module is designed around the smallest test that still answers a question โ€” a few hundred rupees, spent once, teaches more than any amount of reading about budgets.

Do I need a website of my own?

You need ONE page you control, plus a free analytics tag. A simple free blog is enough; the point is that you own the results and can read them.

Is this course free?

The lessons, examples and practice tasks are free. Only the optional ad test spends real money, and you decide that amount โ€” start it at the smallest number that still returns a result.

Which marketing jobs can I actually get as a fresher?

Executive and trainee roles at agencies and small businesses, where a campaign report you wrote yourself is worth more than a certificate. Take the free Career Pulse check to see how your profile scores against the roles you want.

Not sure which of these you need first? The free Career Pulse check scores your skills, communication and goal clarity in about three minutes and tells you which gap to close first. Take the free check.
